NextCapital Welcomes Two Executives to Its Leadership Team
Industry Veterans Will Drive Success for NextCapital’s Employees and Partners
December 4, 2020
Chicago, Ill. — NextCapital, the leader in enterprise digital advice, today announced the addition of two seasoned executives to its leadership team: Ms. Patricia (“Patti”) Saunders, Chief Customer Officer and Ms. Emese Balla, Vice President of People Operations.
“Patti and Emese bring to NextCapital the highest levels of leadership and expertise,” said John Patterson, NextCapital co-founder and chief executive officer. “Their experience--creating and driving success in their respective fields--will prove instrumental in further accelerating NextCapital’s growth and advancing our mission to help everyone retire successfully.”
Patti Saunders, Chief Customer Officer
In September, NextCapital further invested in its Customer Success Program by naming Patti Saunders as the company’s first Chief Customer Officer (CCO). As CCO, Patti will focus on aligning NextCapital’s strategies, investments, and resources to drive successful outcomes across its customer and participant ecosystems. These practices will fold the customer voice more closely into the business and will inform how NextCapital evolves and develops an unparalleled customer experience.
Patti’s career in customer success spans more than 25 years—across industries and technologies and within complex organizations and markets. Patti spent the last 12 years in executive-level roles focused on developing and scaling teams across the customer lifecycle, and instilling a customer-first culture to strengthen experiences and outcomes.
Patti was most recently employed with Convercent and Jama Software.
Emese Balla, Vice President, People Operations
NextCapital recognizes that the path to true customer success is forged by people: ours and our customers’. To attract and retain the best and the brightest talent, it is crucial that we support a top-tier human resources function.
Emese will oversee all people strategy and operations, talent acquisition, and compensation functions at NextCapital. Emese joins NextCapital from PayPal, where she was Head of Human Resources for the company’s two highly successful stand-alone businesses, Braintree and Venmo. Emese has more than 20 years of experience in global human resources, holding leadership roles at Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies.
Emese has spent her career leading high-performing teams, developing talent, transforming culture, building inclusivity, and increasing diversity through targeted analytics and program development. She is recognized as a strong and innovative leader, keenly focused on growing successful organizations with culture at the center and enhancing the employee experience through tactical strategy.
Both Saunders and Balla will report directly to NextCapital CEO, John Patterson.
“I look forward to Patti and Emese’s impact,” said Patterson, “building on NextCapital’s history of innovation and its commitment to creating world-class experiences for the organization’s greatest assets: our employees and our customers.”
